People who plan, achieve.

Make a List and Check it Twice

A goal without a plan is just a dream, so let's start planning! I always suggest taking some time over the weekend to plan out your meals for the up coming week. Take an inventory of what is already in the cabinets and the refrigerator and identify where the gaps are. Pick a few staples and key ingredients to always have on hand like beans and grains (think quinoa or faro). By making a list of what you need for the week, you will save time, and money because you do not need to dash out to the grocery store to buy miscellaneous items you may have forgotten!

Why Meal Prep?

Prepping your meals in advance is one technique for achieving success. When you prep your meals ahead of time, you are more likely to eat a healthy and nutritious meal or snack. While you may need to dedicate some time on a Saturday or Sunday, it will make your Monday-Friday a lot easier!

Let's talk about portions

Have you ever noticed that our society is obsessed with large portions! Going through fast foods chains, you always have the option to "super size" your meal, or at restaurants we mindless order appetizers, side dishes, and entrees without even realizing how much we are consuming! Part of developing a healthy sustainable life-style is also recognizing what a healthy portion looks like.
