About the event
Join us for a 90 minute writing workshop, led by the incredible Thomas Dooley. After reading a few poems, participants will be invited to reflect on, write, and share their own personal narratives in a supportive and safe space.
For the past decade, Thomas Dooley has pioneered the healing arts as a poet in residence at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center, using expressive writing to restore dignity among patients and caregivers and bolster resiliency among clinicians and staff. He has presented internationally on the subject of illness and poetry and his debut collection, Trespass (Harper Perennial, 2014), was a winning selection for the National Poetry Series.
Cost: Free, and donations are greatly appreciated!
