About the event

What to expect:

On Jan 13th, 2023 Stephanie will introduce you to the basics of how to do art therapy and then guide you as you start the creation process. Participants will work independently on their masks during this event, and Stephanie will be available for guidance and support. You will want to have all of the supplies that you desire for the workshop ready to go. Participants will be encouraged to continue working with their masks between the sessions.

On Jan 20th, 2023 Participants will have the opportunity to share their masks with the group, a powerful way to enhance the healing nature of this work. Stephanie will facilitate the sharing and offer suggestions on how to deepen your reflection process.

Registration:

Registration is 100% free! We are working in partnership with Creative Transformations. After you complete this registration, you will receive an email with the next steps to finalize your registration and to receive the zoom link.

About:

Art therapy can assist you in processing and exploring your cancer experience, which helps you to heal emotionally. In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to transform your radiation mask using art supplies to express yourself- whether it’s to tell the story of what you’ve been through, to express your thoughts and feelings, or bring healing energy in. However you personally decide to transform your mask is up to you, so trust your instincts. The process of transforming the mask is therapeutic.

If you no longer have your radiation mask, check with your radiation oncologist to see if they have masks that are no longer in use or perhaps substitute it with a paintable face mask from a local craft store.

Getting Ready:

Prior to the workshop, you will want to have all of the supplies that you desire for the workshop on hand. The resource links below can help you get ready.
