About the event
Fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) affects up to 59% of those diagnosed with cancer— and for many, it’s a near-daily weight they carry quietly.
In this one-hour conversation, Daniel Hall, PhD, psychologist in the Massachusetts General Brigham Department of Psychiatry and an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, will help us better understand:
What fear of recurrence (or progression) really is
Why “scanxiety” and ambiguous symptoms activate powerful threat responses
Why FCR is often independent of cancer stage or time since diagnosis
Why younger survivors frequently report higher levels of distress
