Mindfulness is learning to pay attention in a non-judgmental way to whatever is going on moment-to-moment. There are so many things we don’t notice in our lives simply because we have not trained our mind to pay attention.

About the event
Mindfulness helps us wake up to our emotions so we can better regulate them. It wakes us up to old patterns and helps us create healthy new ones. Mindfulness gives us the skills of self-care and resilience in times of challenge.
In Mindfulness for Wellbeing, an 8-week course, we will learn how to bring mindfulness into our daily lives so we can experience inner peace, healing, happiness, compassion, gratitude, calm, and resilience. We will do this together by deep breathing, mindfully meditating, pausing, gratitude journaling, showing kindness, cultivating positivity, body scanning, visualizing, actively listening, and grounding in the present moment. Since new techniques will be introduced each week, attending all eight weeks is encouraged to gain the maximum health benefits of mindfulness.
Stacey Fannon is a resilient individual whose life's journey has been marked by courage, strength, and a deep commitment to promoting well-being.
Stacey Fannon has been mindfully meditating since 2018. For the past two years, she has been facilitating a weekly meditation group with friends. Stacey currently teaches Mindfulness for Wellbeing at Hope Connections for Cancer Support. Stacey is a breast cancer survivor and is encouraged and empowered by her friends at Surviving Breast Cancer. In addition to mindfulness, Stacey’s interests include Reiki, raising guide dogs for the blind, gardening with native plants, and jewelry making. Stacey earned a Master’s of Science degree from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Regis College. Stacey currently lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband, three daughters, and her black lab puppy, Goose.
